As part of his efforts to collaborate and engage with relevant stakeholders in Katsina State, newly deployed Controller of Nigerian Correctional Service, CC Umar Baba, has embarked on a familiarization visit to his counterparts in the state.
CC Umar Baba visited the Comptroller of Nigerian Custom Services, Commandant of the 17 Brigade Nigeria Army, State Commander of the National Drugs and Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), State Director of the Department of State Services (DSS), and Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). He also met with his counterparts from the Federal Ministry of Interior, including the Comptroller of Nigerian Immigration Service and Federal Fire Service, at their respective offices in Katsina State.
During the visit, the Controller of Corrections emphasized the need for stronger collaboration among security agencies in the state. He stressed that enhanced cooperation is crucial in addressing the evolving security landscape, particularly in areas such as intelligence sharing, joint operations, and training.
The heads of security agencies visited welcomed CC Umar Baba and assured him of their support. They pledged to work together to promote safety and security in the state.
In a related development, CC Umar Baba paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner of Justice and Attorney General, Hajiya Fadila Muhammed Dikko, PhD. The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration between the Correctional Service and the judicial sector, seek support for policy reforms, and address operational challenges within the correctional service.
